Daniel Kirk asked:
Maybe you’ve always dreamed of being a police officer, or a detective, a legal assistant, or even a lawyer. If so, you’ll need to find a criminal justice degree online program that works for your lifestyle and schedule. Thanks to the internet, and a few credited technical colleges that have strong criminal justice programs, many people are getting their criminal justice degree online, which is quite easy and convenient.
To jump start your career in criminal justice, find a well-rounded educational program with a good balance of theory and application. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you search for the best program:
Find a school that teaches the fundamentals of the criminal justice system and gives you a strong foundation in the fields of criminal law including legal procedures and criminal justice skills. Choose a school/curriculum that gives you a good understanding of the general causes and prevention of crime. Make sure you will learn about today’s law enforcement standards and the legal system it follows. Ask school administrators if you’ll develop the technical skills needed to succeed. Research the courses you’ll take to make sure you can successfully expand your knowledge in the areas of criminalistics, victimology and forensics. Once you graduate, you should have the human relations skills appropriate for the criminal justice industry.
Once you’ve chosen your school and enrolled in your criminal justice degree online program, make sure you’re computer savvy and have a general knowledge of:
The Internet.Operating systems. Handling files (text, audio and video). Relevant software.
Having a successful career in criminal justice means getting the most out of your schooling-just like any other type of degree. The amount of effort you put into it is the amount you’ll get out of it. Though online degree programs can be an excellent way to learn, there isn’t anyone monitoring you. You have to discipline yourself and keep motivated each day. Here are a few tips:
Read each day’s lesson and don’t get behind. It’s especially important to avoid procrastination. Do some extra reading on your own including current events and legislations to enhance your learning about the criminal justice system. Create a schedule for each class and discipline yourself to follow that schedule every day. Online criminal justice programs, such as the ones at ITT Technical Institute, make students their first priority-but don’t hesitate to ask questions and get the help you need.
From finding the right technical school and program to preparing for your educational experience, if you follow the aforementioned rules, you’ll be on your way to a successful career in criminal justice!

Kenneth Echie asked:
Some people come online aspiring to join the rank of professionals in the criminal justice field. And who can blame them. It is an exciting career field to join. Some of the professions are indeed noble professions.
Imagine being an FBI agent. This profession puts you in position to protect America and its citizens.
Another one is homeland security. This criminal justice career puts you position to fight terrorism and terrorists. You will be doing combat and matching wits with the bad guys that are trying to hurt America and American citizens.
But did you know one of the best ways to equip yourself for the above careers and others in the criminal justice field is to get a bachelors degree in criminal justice? In this article, I will cover why you should get a bachelors degree in criminal justice.
They are as follows:
1. A bachelors degree in criminal justice will help you get hired. Increasingly, the basic educational requirement for a career in many criminal justice professions is this degree. If you don’t have it, you won’t even be considered for a job unless you have years of experience to offset this educational requirement.
And guess what? The experience needed to offset this educational requirement is military or law enforcement experience. So, if you don’t have military or law enforcement experience, I advise you now to start looking into schools that offer bachelors degree in criminal justice. This way your dream of joining some criminal justice professions will not die prematurely.
2. Getting a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice will help you make more money than somebody with an associate degree or high school diploma. A bachelor degree holder makes about $59,000 per year compared to an associate degree holder that makes about $40,000 per year and a high school diploma holder that makes $26,000 per year.
Not that your math is bad, but I can not help but point out that this is a difference of $19,000 per year over an associate degree holder and $33,000 per year over a high school graduate. This kind of salary difference should be motivation enough for somebody to seriously consider getting their bachelors degree in criminal justice.
3. Somebody with a bachelors degree in criminal justice will get better promotion opportunities than an associate degree holder or high school graduate. This is just a fact of life.
Let’s take your typical police department as an example. It is no secret that making detective is one of the career progressions any police officer will desire. But increasingly, a bachelors degree is becoming one of the requirements for attaining the rank of detective. Sure, somebody with high school diploma or associate degree can still get be detective with years of experience, but it is difficult to pass up that police officer with a bachelors degree that wants the position also.
The above are just a few of the reasons you should consider getting bachelors degree in criminal justice. There are other reasons. Covering all of them will be a little too much in this short article. If you want to find more reasons to get a bachelors degree in criminal justice, I will advise you do more research on it. You can do this by visiting websites that deal with the subject in more detail.

Paul Justice asked:
When someone goes into surgery, they put their trust and life in the hands of medical professionals. These medical professionals are trained to know the ins and outs of the medicine. However, what happens when critical information is into provided to them. Whose fault does it become, the doctor’s due to ignorance or the manufacturers shoddy products? If the manufacturers marketed the product for regular use with no contingencies based on lies, then it is obviously the fault of the manufacturers. Also, if the manufacturer held information that led to startling findings about the drug but did not publish them, it is obviously the manufacturers fault as well. If however, a manufacturer told the doctor about all of the risks and threats to the health of the patient, yet the doctor prescribed the drug anyways because it would gain a large profit, it is at the fault of the doctor. If however, the manufacturer told the doctor about the side effects and bribed the doctor with incentives, it would the fault of both the doctor and the manufacturer. If you have found yourself in this situation, contact a Trasylol Lawyer immediately.
Trasylol was recalled in November of 2007, two years after Bayer first found out about the devastating effects Trasylol causes. In an meeting with the FDA, Bayer Pharmaceuticals willingly withheld information that would have prompted the FDA to recall Trasylol immediately. Over 20,00 lives could have been saved from the time Bayer knew about the negative sides effects from Trasylol, to the day the FDA finally recalled the drug. At this point in time Bayer knew that Trasylol was causing serious kidney failure and deaths, however it was still on the market. The fact that Bayer did nothing about that completely questions their entire companies motives as a whole.
In the case of Trasylol, no one but Bayer pharmaceuticals knew about the devastating side effects except them. They chose not to disclose the information about the negative side effects Trasylol has on its patients. Bayer knew that it increases the risk of kidney failure by more than 50%. This is a decision that Bayer made, and made alone. Now they must pay for the consequences and make right what they have done so wrong. Most people who were given Trasylol during surgery had no idea because typically someone isn’t too interested in the drugs used during surgery unless the patient is allergic. Therefore even after the recall came out, thousands were still suffering and didn’t know why.
Trasylol lawyers are working around the clock for clients who have suffered from the devastating effects of Trasylol. If you have had heart surgery and are now experiencing kidney problems, contact your doctor right away to see if you were given Trasylol during surgery. If so, contact Trasylol Lawyers for they have an experienced team ready to discuss your case with you. Trasylol Lawyers have the experience and knowledge to deal with large pharmaceutical companies, insurance giants, and even the government. They also have access to the best experts able to help prove that Bayer Pharmaceuticals wronged you.

Kenneth Echie asked:
The field of criminal justice is exploding with career opportunities. This was brought about by the events of September 11, 2001. The explosion has led a lot of people to be interested in the various careers in the profession. What these people find out after they start exploring for career opportunities in the field is that some form of education is required to get some of the jobs in the profession.
One of the degrees anyone interested in a career in criminal justice can get is associate degree in criminal justice. This degree will help a career seeker in criminal justice fulfill the education requirements needed to get a job in the profession. Therefore, in this article, I will explain the benefits of getting an associate degree in criminal justice.
In no particular order, they are:
1.An associate degree in criminal justice will help you get an entry level job in the profession. While it is not an absolute necessity that you get this degree, there is no doubt that it will give you a leg up on your competition.
Let’s say you are interested in joining the police department in your town. Who do you think will be given preference in the hiring process, a high school graduate or somebody with an associate degree in criminal justice? I think there can be no doubt that somebody who made the commitment to study criminal justice will most likely get hired over the high school graduate.
Why?
The reason is obvious. While both candidates will go through the police academy training, the one with the associate degree is better equipped to succeed in such training. This is because the courses taught in the associate degree program will cover some if not most of what will be taught in the training.
2.Somebody with associate degree in criminal justice will command more salary than somebody with high school diploma. People with associate degree make about $40,000 per year while high school diploma holders make $26, 000 per year. This is a difference of $14,000 per year. So getting your associate degree in criminal justice does pay.
3.An associate degree in criminal justice takes fewer years to complete than a bachelors degree in criminal justice. An associate degree will take you about 2 years to complete compared to a bachelor’s degree that will take you 4 years to complete.
I can hear you say but the bachelor degree holder will make more money than the person with an associate degree. This is indeed true. But, an associate degree is perfect for those that do not have 4 years before they can start earning a pay. And as I said above, it can get you in the door of a criminal justice career faster than a high school diploma. It is a good degree to start a career.
I have covered just a few of the benefits of earning an associate degree in criminal justice. There are other benefits to getting this degree. Covering all of them is beyond what I can do in this short article. I encourage you to continue to expand your knowledge of the benefits of getting associate degree in criminal justice. You can do this by visiting websites that deal with the subject in more detail.

Jim Greenberg asked:
The University of Phoenix Online offers only two criminal justice and law enforcement programs, one undergraduate and the other graduate.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration is a four-year program that encompasses the subjects of policing, criminal law, and corrections, besides providing a broad outlook on the study of crime and justice in American society. The course is designed to groom professionals working in the field of criminal justice for administrative, supervisory, and leadership positions that demand a higher level of skill and responsibility. As a student of the BS degree in criminal justice administration, you will be educated in how to deal with human relations and resolve social conflicts, besides learning how to use the latest technology to detect, solve, and fight crime. Your work in a position of importance and reliability will involve working with subordinates, peers, and superiors. This program will inculcate in you the competence needed for interpersonal communication, administrative decision-making and personnel management. Professionalism on the job and the moral ethics that govern the profession are also dealt with in the curriculum.
The undergraduate course is a good stepping-stone for professionals in the criminal justice field who are seeking to advance their careers or branch into a diverse specialization. The course includes subjects like Organized Crime, Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice, Skills for Professional Development, Introduction to Criminal Justice, Criminology, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Interpersonal Communications, Introduction to Policing, Criminal Court Systems, Introduction to Corrections, Juvenile Justice, Ethics in Criminal Justice, Cultural Diversity in Criminal Justice, Research methods in Criminal Justice, Organizational Behavior and Management, Criminal Justice Administration, Criminal Justice Administration, Criminal Justice Policy Analysis, Managing Criminal Justice Personnel, Futures of Criminal Justice, and an Interdisciplinary Capstone Course. Each course carries three credits.
The Master of Science in Administration of Justice and Security prepares undergraduate students and professionals in the criminal justice field for administrative roles in criminal justice and security programs. Promotions and transitions across the various areas of criminal justice like law enforcement, corrections, security, and court operations are easily facilitated if you have a master’s degree in a related discipline. This program will train you in problem-solving techniques in security and justice organizations.
The degree includes courses such as Survey of Justice and Security, Organizational Administration and Behavior, Management of Institutional Risk, Ethics in Justice and Security, Criminological Theory, Legal Issues in Justice and Security, Critical Incident Management, Cyber Crime and Information Systems Security, Public Policy Issues, Concepts of Physical and Personal Protection, Forensic Science and Psychological Profiling, and Program Development and Evaluation. Each course carries three credits.
The problem is: while the courses sound good what you will really get is more of management education rather than more of criminal justice education. If you are opting for UoP, be ready to expect a management orientation rather than a criminal justice orientation. The sharp focus on criminal justice is missing.

Paul Justice asked:
If you feel like you have been a victim of medical malpractice, this is the time for you to stand up with courage and fight for what you deserve. Doctor’s today have the most advanced medical devices that have ever been around, this is why it is inexcusable for them to be making mistakes that are found in medical malpractice lawsuits. The reason why so many of these cases are coming to court are because insurance companies are sneaky, they don’t want to have to pay for the mistakes that the doctor’s that they insure make. Instead of being upfront with patients doctor’s are being told to hide the mistakes that they made which often leads to more serious injuries, when these injuries aren’t reported the situation of medical malpractice can get very serious very quickly. As a result of the pressure put on these doctors there have been more medical errors than ever with more misdiagnoses and medical errors that have ever been around.
There are many different types of medical malpractice lawsuits but some of the most common that are dealt with by attorney Paul J Napoli are birth injuries, brain injuries, Erb’s Palsy, and even hospital negligence. One of the medical malpractices that is leading the lawsuits is hospital negligence, as a result of the failing economy almost everywhere is being required to cut back on hours as well as employees. This causes a huge problem of under staffing which raises the chances of medical malpractice almost to twice as likely. Things happen in hospitals like spreading of infections, leaving surgical tools in people, and even more serious things like amputation of the wrong limb.
This is normally because a patient’s medical chart as been mixed up, or the wrong medicine has been administered. There are even some cases where a needle was reused which can cause a serious spread of infections if one of the people who was given the needle has a serious blood ailment. All of these things are very serious and if you feel like you have suffered as a result of this you will want to get in contact with Paul J Napoli. He is a very well known attorney out of New York City who has dealt with many different cases of medical malpractice, his law firm, Napoli Bern Ripka, LLP has been around for more than 30 years helping clients get the money and compensation that they deserve. For Paul J Napoli helping people isn’t just a job, it is a way of life.

Jim Greenberg asked:
According to the US Census Bureau, if you are a high school graduate you are likely to earn an average of $1.2 million over your entire working life, if you hold an associate’s degree this figure will go up to $1.6 million, if you are a bachelor’s degree holder your likely life-long earnings will be on average $ 2.1 million while if you are a master’s degree holder or a PhD your life long earnings will be more than $ 3 million. In short, there is little doubt at all that the more qualified you are, the more you are likely to earn over your entire working life.
Compare this to the cost of earning a degree - associates, bachelor’s or master’s. Even if you go to some of the high-cost for-profit private colleges to earn an online degree, you are unlikely to spend more than $ 30,000 to get your degree. To get an associate degree you will be spending a lot less, say around $ 10,000-15,000. For a bachelor’s you are likely to spend at most $ 20,000-25,000 while for a master’s you will again have to spend another $ 15,000 or so. Hence, to go up to earning a master’s you are unlikely to spend more than $ 35,000-40,000 at the most.
Leaving aside other considerations and to simply illustrate the point through some simplifications, we can say that the average return on investment on spending for an associate’s degree is roughly 1.6 million/15000 X 100 = 10,666 %. Of course, we have not considered the time value of money, but even if you do so, and calculating very roughly - the return on investment in education comes to about 10,666/30 = 350% annually, assuming that you have a working life of 30 years. The figure goes up for bachelor degree holders and even higher for master or PhD degree holders. In comparison, if you get an annual return of around 20% on any investment in the financial markets you can consider yourself lucky!
Although maths savvy readers are going to poke a number of holes in all this arithmetic, the point remains that the returns on investment in education are any day a lot higher than what you can earn by investing similar amounts in the financial markets or through real estate or through any other real-life genuine and legally-valid investment instruments. This holds for all education, not just education in criminal justice.
Coming now to criminal justice specifically, one can always point out that all these figures of returns on investment make sense only if you are going to get a job after getting a criminal justice degree. So, the real question is: will you get one? Again going by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment projections for the period 2002 to 2012 show that there will be a 24.7% increase in employment in criminal justice careers. This is the fifth highest growth after careers in technology, health care, nursing and human services.
So if we are going by figures like hard- nosed businessmen and deciding on whether it is worth investing in a degree in criminal justice, the facts seem to clearly indicate that it will certainly be a smart decision to invest on a criminal justice degree. But leaving aside these figures - just look at your situation now. If you are already employed in a criminal justice related occupation, a degree in criminal justice will immediately get you career gains through pay hikes and promotions. If you are already employed in some other profession, a degree in criminal justice will enable you to get a job in the criminal justice field and even the lowest paying job in this field will let you earn in one year at least twice as much as what you would spend to get that degree.
Thus, any which way you look at it, spending money to get a criminal justice degree will certainly be a smart financial decision. And, if you are already in a criminal justice career that involves a fair amount of risk to your life and limb, you can be pretty sure that a criminal justice degree will not only help you to earn more money but will also empower you to rise above the foot soldier level and get you into a safer job. In any case, once you empower yourself with a criminal justice degree, the very same colleagues who had sneered at your decision and had themselves decided to not follow you and do nothing, will be forced to admit you were smarter. No doubt only smart guys go for college degrees!
